New episode with Malcolm Campbell, a californian shaper, famous for the invention of the Bonzer in 1970, who still shapes and refines these boards today. We met at the Shapers Club, UWL factory, thanks to Renaud Cardinal.

I chose to focus on the Bonzer and Malcolm’s shaping carreer but I strongly suggest that you listen to his great interviews by Surf Splendor (episodes 87 and 332) and by The Temple of Surf Podcast.

We first talk about the bonzer, its definition, its beginnings, its evolutions through the decades and then talk about Malcolm’s carreer as a shaper.

Malcolm has come to the Shapers Club every year or so for more than fifteen years. He was actually in Europe to prepare a documentary about the bonzer. We talk about these two topics in the end of the episode.
